Stepping out in faith is easier than walking in faith. Oh the initial struggle of whether God is telling a person to do something that will take an act or step of faith may be a difficult decision to make. Recognizing God's voice and then being willing to follow through on what Holy Spirit is directing, even prompting you to do is not easy for everyone. Faith takes courage and strength, yet it can be faith as small as a mustard seed which brings one to that leap or step of faith required to be obedient.
Once the step of faith takes place, walking out the decision brings many avenues of doubt. What others think and say often will bring someone to a crossroad of doubt that calls them back from their faith journey to a place that others are more comfortable with your decision. The finances, the employment, the place to live - all may cause someone to doubt whether the direction they have taken will ever come into actuality.
The dark hallways of doubt impact everyone to one degree or another. Which doorways this hallway leads to is dependent on how willing we are to stand in faith (Ephesians 6:10), how much prayer and intercession we have surrounding us, and how much encouragement we gather from our past experience and others.
The size of the decision to follow God's leading can also be a factor in how far one goes down the hallway of doubt. If one is able to stop themselves from going down the hallway, or avoiding the hallway altogether, can be essential to the strengthening of one's faith.
No matter how great the attack against one's faith, doubt comes against all of us. Standing against doubt and standing in faith is a daily issue for each of us. Finishing the battle to the end and finding one's faith intact is ultimately the important matter. For God uses His direction to move us from faith to faith. How are you doing in your walk of faith. Don't give up, stand strong and move to the next degree of faith God is leading you to - He is faithful!
