Another Unique Christmas Is On Its Way!

It is never the same is it? Each Christmas Season comes and goes and is just a little, or even a lot different than the previous ones. Last year for example, we were buried in snow around here right through our White Christmas day. I know; I know it was nothing compared to North Pole, Alaska, but for us it was a lot of snow that didn’t seem to want to go away. Even the young people who had been praying for enough snow to close the schools were surprised by the answer to their prayers. I even heard some saying they were getting tired of the snow. Imagine that, children and youth tired of the snow?

This year it’s been cold, but finally the NW rain has returned. What does the next week and a half hold for us? Will God break into our lives in some way this year? Maybe that’s not the right question to be asking. It seems that God is continually involved in our lives, so maybe we should be looking around for just how He is breaking into our lives. For example, the people we have opportunities to help – are they part of what God is doing in our lives?

Do we realize God wants us to enjoy life? What did I say? God wants us to enjoy life? God tells us in 1Timothy 6:17 that we are to fix our hope on Him for He is the one who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. This Christmas is going to be a lot of fun for the people who fix their hope on God, especially if they fix their eyes on Him. Because as we watch what God is doing, we are then able to enjoy the hope we have in Him.

So let’s start today watching for all God is doing in us, for us and even around us. Let’s watch for the little things that can bring us joy. It’s not about the biggest and best wrapped gift. It’s about enjoying what God has richly blessed us with. Laughter, memories, love, and even the smile that comes when we are just enjoying the life we have been blessed with to live. Make this a unique Christmas Season by looking for God in everything that happens.
