THE PURPOSE OF VILLAGE CHAPEL is to glorify God by being and developing committed followers of Jesus Christ.
Our vision is to see lives changed by knowing, loving and experiencing God. We believe the Lord will touch anyone who seeks Him so each of our Four Cornerstones of ministry is essential to fulfilling our vision. Whether we are Praying, Worshiping, being Set Free, or Proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the answer to everyone’s life – we are ready to serve Jesus.
Our Four Cornerstones of Ministry:
Prayer is simply talking with God. As we learn to listen for God’s voice through Holy Spirit we will grow to know our Lord intimately. In that intimacy, we will be changed into the people He has created us to become. Prayer can be seen in every area of our ministries – because as we listen to God we will know how to help people know, love and experience God through our lives. Prayer does change things in our lives and it is fighting against the status quo. Whether praying for someone’s healing, asking God to touch a person’s life or quietly sitting in His presence – our prayers are essential.
Worship is about the expressing of our heart to God in spirit and in truth. There are a number of ways this can be done as personally or together. Our worship style is celebrative, inspirational, and meant to prepare us for living a lifestyle of worshiping God everyday. Contemporary songs of worship, times of prayer, clapping, lifting our hands, even dancing before the Lord are all expressions of a life filled with worship.
Set Free is moving from our old self, who we were before we surrendered our lives to Jesus, into a life of freedom in Jesus Christ. We struggle with destructive habit patterns, emotional bondages, and hearts that are hurt and desiring to know and love God through our experiences of life. It is when we are truly set free, when Jesus’ sets us free through the deliverance of our souls that we are free indeed. This freedom is what gives the full and abundant life Jesus said each of us can have.
Proclaiming Jesus Christ as the answer for people’s problems is vital to being His followers. Whether we are praying for someone at a store, helping a neighbor or sharing a meal together – it is our heart’s desire to tell others about how Jesus Christ has changed our lives. Through the telling of one’s life story or simply a single experience when Holy Spirit moved in our lives, we proclaim to anyone who will listen that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. That no one comes to an intimate relationship with Father God except through Jesus.
